Today as we were walking to the post office, a mobile crane drove by. Eliot asked me what mobile meant, so I explained about how some things are mobile, and some things are immobile. Then we started classifying the objects around us as either mobile or immobile. Eliot was doing a great job with his new words, until I asked him, "What about that tree? Is is mobile or immobile?"
He hesitated a lot, and so I said, "Eliot, a tree is immobile."
He thought about this for a second, then he said, "But mommy, what about when the wind blows?"
