Paris

Pictures are up on flickr, but I'll put some of my favorites up on the blog over the next few days.  We had a great time in Paris, although Eliot and Ivy were both running a bit low on patience by the end.

Here's what we did:
Friday- TGV train to Paris, dinner at Le Petit Nicois, put the kids to bed, then Marissa and I walked around town for a bit.  Too tired for any crazy partying though.  :-)

Saturday- Rue Cler market for picnic food, then train to the Palace of Versailles, famous home of Louis XIV and XVI, Marie-Antoinette, and famous signing location of the treaty of Versailles.

Sunday- Mass (French and Latin) at St. Germain des Auxerrois, a small cathedral behind the Louvre museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, then the afternoon at Le Jardin des Plantes, dinner at le Cafe des Officiers, who make one awesome cheeseburger

Monday- Metro to the Arc de Triomphe, where we were the first ones up to the top for the excellent view of Paris, then walk down the Champs-Elysees, through the Tillurie Gardens, and into the Louvre museum.  The kids melted down after about 2 hours in the Louvre, but we got to see the Big Names of the French and Italian Renaissance, as well as my friend, Winged Victory.

Monday- Rue Cler for picnic supplies, then a walk to the Rodin museum, another one of my favorite spots.  Back to the hotel for our bags, then an uneventful train ride back home.

Good trip!
