Eliot's VERY belated birthday party

We had a house full of two year olds yesterday (yes, 3 2 year olds counts as a houseful when you're in a small apartment...) and had a great time.

Despite following directions perfectly, I managed to ruin a boxed cake mix, so Eliot had birthday brownies instead- he didn't seem to mind. I also made pico de gallo, since the East Coasters in the crowd seemed to have some lingering doubts about what is actually is. ;-)

We also had a little new(ish)born at the house, but somehow he didn't make it into any of the pictures. It turns out to be really hard to get three toddlers in the same picture, and absolutely impossible for them all to be looking in the same direction (let alone smiling), so here's the best we could do...

Zoo!

Yesterday, Eliot got to visit the zoo for the first time! We went out with our new friends Carey and Nicholas. We saw lions, tigers, bears, kanaroos, monkeys, and many others. Eliot's favorite animal? The rabbits, of course. Unfortunately, I kept forgetting to take pictures, but here are a couple.

2 days in the fountain

Eliot, Sam, Dena, and I spent the last two afternoons in the fountain of the rose garden at Vallee de la Jeunesse. On day 1, Eliot would not go near the water, even though Sam dived right in. But by day 2, he had warmed right up to it.

What we did this week...

Hung out with Sam and Dena! This week, Sam started walking on his own!

Friday in the park

Dena, Sam, Eliot, and I spent a beautiful afternoon in Vallée de la Jeunesse. While the boys played with trucks, Dena and I tossed a frisbee. It was the first summery day we've had, and we took full advantage.

Sam: "Dude, Eliot, did you just fart?"
Eliot: "No no, it was... umm... mommy!"
