Balenburg

We are back from Interlaken! We had a really good time, and were even able to enjoy a dinner out alone in the Thai restaurant of the hotel. On Monday, we went to Balenburg Museum. It's a huge park full of farms replicated from different eras and places in Switzerland. Inside some of the farm buildings are people practicing traditional crafts, like basket weaving and charcoal making, and all the rooms are set up as they would have been during that particular time period. We went through an old-fashioned apothecary and got to smell various herbs and substances, and Eliot was able to pet a goat in the children's petting zoo.

The livestock were beautiful specimens, and probably enjoying the best life a cow or chicken could ever dream of!
