Paris, City of Strikes

My dad, Debbie, Eliot, and I had a wonderful trip in Paris. Our hotel (Hotel Arley Tour Eiffel) was near the metro, and near the Eiffel Tower, making it a great location from which to explore the city. Here is our itenerary:

Day 1: Left Lausanne at 9am, and traveled to Paris by TGV. Took the metro to Arc de Triomphe, walked down Champs Elysees, including a people-watching cafe stop on the most chic street in the world, saw the obelisk memorial to the guillotine site, crossed the river to the Eiffel Tower, walked back to the hotel.Day 2: Rue Cler Market, Napolean's Tomb, a tour of Paris's sewer system (the oldest in the world), and an evening tour of the Louvre.Day 3: We had hoped to go to Versailles, but the metro/rail workers were on strike. Instead, we took a boat tour of the Seine River, explored Notre Dame and Ile de la Cite, and then had a nice dinner to celebrate Debbie's birthday.
